WHAT IS ENERGETICA?
Over the past 35 years, Aberdeen City and Shire has forged an international reputation in oil and gas and is now globally recognised as being the energy capital of Europe.
Now, the Energetica concept offers a tremendous opportunity for powerful growth, further diversification and continued prosperity within the region, building on the solid knowledge, technology and trading base developed around oil and gas.
Energetica is an ambitious public-private project, designed to position the Aberdeen City and Shire as a global energy hub. It aims to create a concentration of energy technology companies, housing and leisure facilities along a 30-mile corridor from Aberdeen to Peterhead.
Energetica is the private sector’s vision of the future of Aberdeen City and Shire. The concept has been further developed by Scottish Enterprise, Aberdeenshire Council and Aberdeen City Council under the auspices of ACSEF.

The corridor will have three distinct parts:
The Eco Hub
Stretching between Bridge of Don, where the Aberdeen Science Parks are located, and the Aberdeen Airport Development Zone at Dyce, the Eco Hub will be the main business area, attracting leading-edge science, technology and research businesses that focus on the energy sector.
The Green Heart
Situated around Ellon and Newburgh, the Green Heart will see investment in the natural environment with modest developments to provide housing in attractively landscaped settings.
The Northern Gateway
Centred on Peterhead, new quayside infrastructure will enable Peterhead Decommissioning Ltd to bid for more ambitious tranches of work, allow the port to better support the subsea industry to become its UK port of choice and provide support to the emerging marine renewables sector.
Proposals for developing high quality residential and commercial development, will, when realised, improve Peterhead's attractiveness as an attractive location for living and working.
